Calling the youth and the young at heart! Want to have real conversations about race? Come bond, learn and talk about race with people of other backgrounds – no need to be afraid to speak your mind, we’re all here for the same purpose!
Voices United (The Youth Committee of the Race Exhibit Initiative is a group of youth and teens from throughout Kalamazoo.
What do we do?
We meet on the second Tuesday of every month to have REAL Talk, eat, and meet new people! We also plan a wide range of activities that will make up the youth programming of the exhibit. Some of us will also serve as tour guides during the exhibit. Community service hours are given for attending Voices United events! (don’t forget Community Service is important when you start to fill out college applications. They are looking at a "well-rounded" student and what better way to improve than to contribute to our region through the RACE Exhibit!)
How do you get involved?
Come to our meetings, currently held at the YMCA on Maple Street in Kalamazoo. We have food and lively discussions!
